Rod Heiden was born in Clarion, Iowa. He attended Webster City Schools from Kindergarten through his sophomore
year and then moved to Dows where he graduated from Dows High School in 1986. In August of 1986, he went to work
for Erickson Manufacturing Inc. that later closed in December of 1993. In January of 1994, he went to work for
Ennis Corp. as an over the road driver until November of 1996 when he went to work for Gold-Eagle Cooperative.
Shortly afterwards, he started taking classes at Iowa Central Community College where he obtained his BA degree.
He went on to obtain a Management Information Systems degree from Buena Vista University. In May of 2000, an
opening became available as Network Administrator and he was moved into that position. He has held the Network
Administrator position at Gold-Eagle Cooperative ever since. Rod married his wife Kim on August 5th, 1995 and on May 27, 2001 his daughter, Mackenzie, was born. In 2005, Rod became a Police Reserve for the Clarion Police Department and an EMT-B for the Clarion ambulance. In 2007, he became the President and Team Commander of Wright County Search and Rescue and also transferred from being a reserve officer for the Clarion Police Department to the Wright County Sheriff Department Reserve program and in 2008, he graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Reserve Program making him a State Certified Police Reserve. In 2009, Rod was raised a Master Mason in Cyrene Lodge 325 in Clarion and joined El Kahir Shrine in May of the same year. Rod was elected President of the Wright County Shrine Club at the December election in 2009. Rod enjoys camping, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, jet skiing, boating, water skiing, wake boarding, snow skiing and spending time with his family. |
