ANSAR MEDALLION RULES


The Ansar Medallion is a reward system for Nobles who participate in Shrine activities and are selfless volunteers. This system will allow Nobles to be recognized for the time and money they donate to El Kahir Shrine.

Points may be obtained by participating in the activities show below. The starting date of this program will be January 1, 2002.


First 1,000 points Receive medallion on chain necklace.
Next 500 points Receive tri-colored collar.
Next 15,000 points Receive a star for each 500 points to pin on necklace.
Maximum of 30 stars.
Next 500 points Return stars to office and receive Silver Collar.
Next 15,000 points Receive a star for each 500 points to pin on necklace.
Maximum of 30 stars.
Next 500 points Return stars to office and receive Gold Collar.
Next 15,000 points Receive a star for each 500 points to pin on necklace.
Maximum of 30 stars.


Point Activities
1 For each dollar contributed to the Transportation Fund, Building Fund, Building Maintenance Fund, General Fund or any other Shrine Charity
Includes 1 point for $1.00 given to an El Kahir Fund or El Kahir Charity. Money must directly help El Kahir Shrine. Does not include funds directly donated to Hospitals or Imperial Shrine. Points from Unit or Club donations can be distributed between nobles.

1 For each dollar value of acceptable donations to Temple or Shrine Charity
An acceptable valid dollar appraisal must be presented at time of donation.
Includes 1 point for $1.00 donated to El Kahir Shrine. Donations must directly help El Kahir Shrine. Points from Unit or Club donations can be distributed between nobles.

1 Dollar Net Cost of Circus Ads/Ticket sales to Shrine Center
Includes 1 point for $1.00 raised for El Kahir Shrine. Points are NOT given for money returned to units for commission.

10 For each Unit or Club meeting
Includes 10 points given for attendance at scheduled Unit or Club meetings.

10 Points per hour for any approved working activity, i.e. Circus, Office Work, Maze, etc.
For time spent on helping El Kahir Shrine. Includes all time in preparation and performance of fundraisers, time spent in office assisting staff, etc. Does NOT include time that is reimbursed.

20 Activity Center Function
Includes participation at Embassy Club and El Mecca Shrine Club functions. Includes attendance at special functions of all Shrine Clubs. Does not include any regular Club meetings.

25 Masonic Degree Team per degree
Each Noble gets 25 points for each degree performed. Points not limited per day. Noble must participate in one degree per day to be eligible for points of other degrees. Noble does not have to participate in other degrees, but must be present.

25 Entertainment visits to hospitals, rest homes, etc.
Includes visitations to infirm and sick. Must deliver report of visit to Recorder.

30 Per other Parade
Each Noble receives 30 points for each Civil Parade that he participates in. Includes public functions that unit participates in. Record name of function or parade on form.

40 Stated Meeting Attendance
Each Noble receives 40 points for attendance at the monthly Stated Meeting.

50 Per Noble, per activity day. For every Noble that attends any out of town activity sponsored by the Potentate; i.e. Hospital Trips, Conventions
Includes El Kahir Potentate's trips and ball

50 For annual Caravan
Includes participation in any El Kahir Caravan. Each Caravan is worth 50 points.

50 Ceremonial Attendance
Includes attendance at any El Kahir Ceremonial. Each ceremonial is worth 50 points. Potentate to decide whether points apply on special ceremonials not scheduled 3 months in advance.

50 Transportation of children to hospital
Includes all modes of transportation, whether by van, car or plane.

75 Sponsor a child to a hospital
Must be a signer on the sponsor form.

100 $100,000,000 Dollar Club
Includes 100 points and pin for $100 given. Noble can designate recipient of pin. Nobles get points for each pin purchased.

100 CSSA/Imperial Parade Participation
Each Noble receives 100 points for participation in a CSSA and Imperial Parade.

100 Unit and Club officers, Committee Chairs, Chief and Personal Aides (per year)
Includes 100 additional points for Nobles taking part in the leadership of El Kahir Shrine. Trustees are also included. Points awarded after installation of Potentate.

250 CSSA/Imperial Unit Competition
Each Noble receives 250 points for participation in a CSSA and Imperial Unit Competition.

500 Major fund raising Chairmen, Karavan Editor, and Samsar-Ansar Chairman
Includes 500 additional points for Nobles taking part in the major activities of El Kahir Shrine. Points awarded after installation of Potentate.

500 Per year on elected Divan
Divan members are awarded 500 points for participation. Divan members limited to elected members and Chaplain. Points awarded after installation of Potentate.

1000 Awarded by Chief Rabban for Meritorious service at Circus
Up to 1000 points may be designated by the Chief Rabban at any time during the year. Chief Rabban may select any number of Nobles to receive these points.

1000 Maximum Points per person that can be awarded by Potentate for Meritorious service
Potentate may designate a maximum of 1000 points per noble for meritorious service.


Nobles can earn points only.
Each noble is responsible for obtaining forms, filling them out, and returning to the Shrine Office for recordation.
A receptacle will be placed in the office for the form to be placed.
Forms may be mailed.
Forms should be limited to one event when possible.
Please write legibly.
Awards will be given at stated meetings.
Maximum number of points can be set for an event.
Potentate can modify rules with consent of the Divan.
